We had a bad experience on a busy Sunday. First, the staff is very nice, and the grounds are spectacular. But apparently the owners do not want to turn away paying admissions even if the pools are completely packed. We paid our $8 each, made it to the man-made pool and it was jam packed. We went down to the natural springs and they were also complete packed. The water was a muddy brown with zero clarity. There were dozens and dozens of people in a small area with very little water actually flowing, and I didn't once see anyone get out of the pool to head to the restroom (and there were plenty of people drinking and listening to loud music). My wife and I sat down for a bit and were just too grossed out to get in the nasty water. We wound up leaving after a few minutes and were very disappointed to have driven all the way out to the location and spent the money to swim without any fun to show for our efforts; we have no plans to ever return. If you visit during the winter or even a weekday it probably would be a much better experience, but absolutely skip it if it is a weekend in the summer.
This is one of the best places I've ever camped!!! It's so serene. My husband and I had a great time!
This is a very nice and shady place to bring family and friends. There are plenty of picnic tables and space in between. The spring fed river is very clear and refreshing as well as the man made pool. July and August can get a bit crowded, so plan your day and get their early. Any other months is less hectic. Their garden is very peaceful.
Great place to be by the water in the hot Texas summers. It gets crowded July and August so if you want to get a good spot with shade you need to get there early. Kids will have lots of fun but strollers won't make it to the bottom area by the springs so if you have a baby, you may need to stay in the manmade pool. Hosts are nice and the water is cool and inviting!
The experience was great! Don't listen to the people saying the rocks are too slick, they aren't! The only advice I'd give you on the rocks is to not walk around on them barefoot, it makes your feet sore. I went there on a Sunday and it didn't start getting busy until about 3:00pm. The 20ft cliff jumping is kinda dangerous, the water you jump into is pretty shallow (like 6ft) so I'd be careful. The rope swinging is fun to watch and do. Then there's the waterfall! It's beautiful with all the plants and cold water running off the cliff. If you go to the back you'll see a little dark cave that's fun and spooky to swim into! The water depths change a lot in the natural pool. One minute it's 5ft the next it's nearly 10ft. The water temperature is cool but just right if you like a little chill. I would definitely come back here! Oh and the garden's gorgeous, there are bright colors everywhere! They also have GIANT wind chimes! The whole place is beautiful!
