From the moment we pulled in we knew we were in for a treat, the scenery getting here was amazing, couldn't have been better. We did get lost for a couple minutes trying to find 414 (the road that leads you straight to it) but that was no issue for my friend and I as the surrounding area is so beautiful and lusciously green! We were greeted by Dennis, one out of many of the nicest folk we encountered on our trip. He was extremely polite and suggested a campsite for us (23) we paid for our site and he was extremely helpful on directions to get there. We drove by our site and although it was nice we were looking for a site which was a bit more secluded. 23 was about 100 feet from the water which was great for a sight. We headed back to the office and asked if we could be moved to site 27, Dennis was helpful and let us switch to our site at no charge at all. We had an amazing time there after. Since it was Labor Day weekend we were expecting a huge crowd, wrong. There were families there but most sites are really spread out so we didn't have any encounters with neighbors. We Grilled some pork chops and potatoes and swam in the lake for sunset. We also went hiking thru the trails provided and we're not let down. This place really is GOLDEN and a great change from the city! At the end of our stay Dennis drove up to see how our night went and chatted with us a bit. He said if we would like to reserve the same spot to call a couple days in advance so he could make arrangements for our arrival, what a great host! We will definitely be returning here! & thanks again Dennis!

Love mountain biking here. Good camping for a cheap price too. Nicer now that the water level is back up.

Well maintained, friendly staff. Views are fantastic

Beautiful and so clean! The deer where everywhere! Thanks for having us

I ran a race here last year. It was the first time I had come to the park. I enjoyed it. It's easy to get into the water, the trails are actually single track trails for the most part, nice hills, nice overall facilities.
